An Entire Filtration System In Your Backpack
Everything is included. The straw filters, the syringe keeps it flowing, and the sealed pack keeps it clean until the day you need it. Simple, complete, and ready when you need it.
Filter Straw
0.1-micron hollow-fiber membrane, rated for 1,800 gallons. 8 in, 2 oz.
Flushing Syringe
Push clean water back through to clear sediment and restore flow.
Tethered Caps
Caps on both ends stay attached, so the mouthpiece stays clean in your bag.
28mm Bottle Thread
Screws onto standard water and soda bottles, and most gravity bags.
Pick Your Method
Use it three ways depending on where you are.
Sip straight from a creek, lake, or puddle. Screw it onto any standard 28mm water bottle and drink on the go. Or connect it to a gravity bag and let it drip while you set up camp.
The Membrane Does the Work
Water moves through a bundle of hollow fibers with pores rated at 0.1 micron.
Bacteria (0.2 micron and up) and protozoa like Giardia and Crypto (2 microns and up) are too large to pass, so they stay trapped inside.
Drink
Clean water comes out the mouthpiece as you sip. No tablets, no waiting time, no chemical taste, no fire to build.
Flush and Store
Blow air back through the straw after each use. When flow slows down, back-flush with the included syringe.
Let it dry completely before storing. There is no expiration date, so replace a straw only when water stops flowing.
HERE'S WHAT THE PRIMALLABS STRAW FILTERS
MOST COMMON THREATS...
Bacteria (E. coli, Legionella)
Bacteria (E. coli, Legionella)
Rated to remove more than 99.99% of bacteria. Known waterborne bacteria measure 0.2 micron or larger, twice the size of the membrane pores.
Parasites & Protozoa (Giardia, Cryptosporidium)
Parasites & Protozoa (Giardia, Cryptosporidium)
Protozoa measure 2 microns or larger and are rated to be removed at more than 99.99%. Per the CDC, chlorine tablets do little against Cryptosporidium. A membrane blocks it physically.
Microplastics
Microplastics
Plastic particles larger than 0.1 micron are held back by the membrane.
Sediment & Cloudiness
Sediment & Cloudiness
Natural sediment and the particles that make water look cloudy are filtered out. Very muddy water shortens filter life, so let it settle first when you can.
Anything Larger Than 0.1 Micron
Anything Larger Than 0.1 Micron
The membrane works by size. Anything bigger than its 0.1-micron pores stays inside the straw.
What It Does NOT Remove
What It Does NOT Remove
Viruses, dissolved chemicals, heavy metals, fuel, and salt. Don't use it on seawater or on floodwater with chemical runoff. Where viruses are a concern, boil or chemically treat the water after filtering.

FAQ
Why do I need this when I can just boil water?
Why do I need this when I can just boil water?
Boiling needs a fire or a working stove, fuel, a pot, and a full minute at a rolling boil, then time to cool. In an outage or on the move you often have none of those. The straw filters as you drink. Boiling is still the right call for virus concerns, and the two work well together.
What exactly does the 0.1 micron filtration remove?
What exactly does the 0.1 micron filtration remove?
It is rated to remove more than 99.99% of bacteria (like E. coli and Legionella) and protozoa (like Giardia and Cryptosporidium), plus microplastics and sediment down to 0.1 micron. It does not remove viruses, chemicals, heavy metals, or salt.
Will it expire if I just keep it in my emergency kit?
Will it expire if I just keep it in my emergency kit?
No. There is no expiration date. Keep it sealed until you need it. After use, blow it out, flush it, and let it dry fully before storing.
How many should I buy for my family?
How many should I buy for my family?
One straw per person is the simplest rule, so everyone can drink at the same time. A 5-pack covers a family of four with one spare, or one straw for each car, go-bag, and camping bin.
Can my kids use it?
Can my kids use it?
Yes. For kids and older family members, thread it onto a bottle and squeeze the water through into a clean cup. That takes less effort than sipping straight from a creek.
I live in the city or suburbs. Do I really need this?
I live in the city or suburbs. Do I really need this?
City water depends on power, pumps, and pipes. Main breaks, storms, and treatment-plant failures all trigger boil-water notices, and bottled water is the first thing to sell out. A straw lets you drink safely from the tap, a rain barrel, or a nearby pond until service is back.
How do I clean and maintain it?
How do I clean and maintain it?
Blow air back through the mouthpiece after each use. When flow slows, push clean water back through with the included syringe. Dry it completely before long-term storage, and keep a used straw from freezing, since ice can crack the fibers.
